Cute things these days tend to turn ecchi, but again, like kimi ni todoke, it stays pretty. The animation and character designs are cute. I really liked that part of kimi ni todoke, so I enjoyed it in Hiyokoi too. The story, like kimi ni todoke, is told mostly through the inner dialogues of Hiyori. Hiyori's shyness is similar to Sawako's even though she seems a little less mature than Sawako. As a huge fan of Kimi ni Todoke, I really did enjoy this short show. This is like a squeezed version of Kimi ni Todoke. If you cant get enough then read the manga aswell. Its great so if you like slice of life genre then check it out and you wont be disappointed. The characters remind me of Toradora! (lol at the locker scenes). I hope they will make a sequel or another OVA of it in the future since the manga is up to like 8 chapters now.

My only complaint is that this is too short! It deserves a full series adaptation or atleast a movie. The art and animation are pretty good and follow the manga well. He draws alot of attention which Hiyori does not like but later on that changes. Then she meets Yuushin who is uber tall and gets a seat next to him. Anyways she comes back to school and as you might expect its not too good because of her shyness, her socials skills are low. She was hit by a truck and was hospitalized, it is still a mystery to me how someone this small could be hit. The story is interesting, Hiyori is a really shy and small girl who had an accident and could not come to school. This is an adaptation of the manga, this OVA covers basically chapter 1 of the manga and thats it. Hiyokoi is a nice and relaxing anime, its just a 1OVA Special.
